How They Met: A Global Connection

Allyson and Jay first crossed paths while working on executive foreign service assignments for Nissan Motor Company in Japan. What started as a professional relationship among colleagues soon turned into a strong friendship that would later evolve into something even more special. However, life’s twists and turns led them to different opportunities—Jay moved to Mexico, and Allyson returned to the U.S. Despite the distance, their relationship continued to blossom, ultimately leading to their beautiful wedding day.

A Thoughtfully Curated Celebration at Cannery Hall

When it came time to tie the knot, Allyson and Jay knew they wanted a wedding that honored the countries that had played such an integral part in their relationship. Cannery Hall’s Amaranth provided the perfect setting—an elegant and versatile space with exposed brick walls, warm lighting, and a timeless atmosphere that allowed them to incorporate meaningful, personal touches.

Guests enjoyed a one-of-a-kind dining experience featuring food stations inspired by Japan, Mexico, and the U.S., giving everyone a taste of the places that shaped their love story. The couple also chose unique favors—beautifully crafted custom chopsticks with their names and wedding date engraved on them along with soy sauce dishes. Each favor was packaged with a thank-you message in Spanish, Japanese, and of course a heartfelt “thanks, y’all” as a nod to their Nashville home.

Allyson and Jay’s wedding wasn’t just a celebration of their union—it was a tribute to the places and experiences that had brought them together. Every detail honored their journey, blending cultures and memories in a way that was both meaningful and unforgettable.
